Rottrix is committed to responsible sourcing across all commodity categories — alcohols, bulk spirits, green coffee and biochemicals. We believe that sustainable and ethical supply chains are not only the right approach but also essential for long-term supply security and client confidence.

Our responsible sourcing framework covers three core areas: environmental sustainability, social standards and governance.

Environmental Sustainability

We prioritise suppliers certified under internationally recognised sustainability schemes. For alcohols and biochemicals, this means ISCC EU, ISCC Plus or REDcert certification, which verify lifecycle greenhouse gas (GHG) savings, sustainable land use and no deforestation. For green coffee, we source from Rainforest Alliance, Fairtrade and 4C certified cooperatives and farms, which set standards for biodiversity protection, water usage and chemical management.

For our 2G ethanol and 2G neutral alcohol portfolio, feedstocks are exclusively lignocellulosic agricultural residues — wheat straw, corn stover, bagasse — which do not compete with food production and deliver GHG savings typically exceeding 70% versus fossil fuel baselines.

Social Standards

We conduct supply chain due diligence to identify and mitigate risks of forced labour, child labour and unsafe working conditions. Suppliers are required to comply with ILO core labour conventions. For coffee, Fairtrade certification ensures producers receive a minimum guaranteed price and a social premium for community investment.

Governance and Transparency

We maintain full supply chain documentation for every shipment, enabling clients to demonstrate traceability and sustainability compliance to their own stakeholders and regulators. Our procurement team can provide sustainability declarations, scope 3 emission factors and feedstock origin data on request.

Fair Trade Coffee

Fairtrade-certified origins include Honduras, Uganda, Ethiopia and Colombia. Minimum price guarantee and community premium paid to farmer cooperatives.
